Some Notes about Kabayong Tabla

Reading the full text of Kabayong Tabla, I have some observations about the language used in this corrido.

1. The prefix maŋag-  is still productive, with 3 usage although there is no instance of naŋag-.

maŋagɥontok (239)
maŋagɥiba (350)
maŋagtindog (533)

There is no occurence of maŋa- prefix either as maŋa- or naŋa-, but some surface forms of maŋ- prefix occur that can get confused with this maŋa- prefix.

2. Bikol still used mag+CV to form the UnBegun Progressive Aspect of the verb prefix mag-, with ma:- prefix also in use but in smaller frequency. And the root word “duman” appears in both.
